final drive
Written by bigphillip79 on 2/3/2012 at 11:54 pm

Man I love this thing.
I rode with the ROMEO Riders to lunch today. If any one doesn't know this group
its: Retired Old Motorcyclist Eating Out. Mostly snowbirds that show up in the
winter here but have chapters all over the place. They just meet up for lunch
here and there.
Lets just say they are not the fastest group to ride with but its fun. We did
about 275 miles at 55 to almost 65mph sometimes. With this new final drive I
never needed 5th gear. The bike cruised happily in 4th from 4000-4500 rpm.
Before I would've been stuck right in between 4th and 5th and shifting up and
down to there inconsistent pace. When I broke off from the group I picked it up
to 75 and 5th gear.

7 in the parts schematic) and the collar spacer thing (part 8) is all I needed
to swap over.

There are five candidate final drives used across the different models and
years.

(final drive, swingarm, wheel, misc pieces, etc) to swap into their PC800s?

will update the page I linked to above as I find out more information.
