final drive
Written by dave_hiett on 2/4/2012 at 02:54 pm

Mine was out of an '87, had about 13K on it. Only the rear end was swapped, the
driveshaft and seal were reused. As I recall (and I can't remember exactly where
I got this from at the time), the original PC ratio is 3.4:1, whereas the VT1100
is 3.1:1.

In case you are interested, under the photos link, I posted shots of speed vs
rpm after the conversion under 'VT1100 Speedo - Tach'.

There are five candidate final drives used across the different models and
years.

drive, swingarm, wheel, misc pieces, etc) to swap into their PC800s?

provide any other relevant details), I would be GREATLY appreciative. I will
update the page I linked to above as I find out more information.

we have fully answered the questions surrounding the VT1100 final drive swap.
