Re: PC800: Brake Fluid Replacement
Written by JTSMCRIDER@aol.com on 8/6/1997 at 07:56 am

Hi Gang:

While on this subject, I noted two items in recent magazines that are
purported to make this job easier and a true one-person operation:

The first is a replacement bleed valve that incorporates a ball check valve
which automatically opens and closes to keep the system sealed while bleeding
it. Check out p. 47 of the August issue of MCN.

The second is the poor-man's alternative to the above "elegant" solution. It
is a tip from a fellow in LA who points out that your garden-variety
household spray bottles have within them a ball check valve that can
accomplish the same thing as the one in the above product. All that needs to
happen is to attach the bleed hose to the pickup tube of the spray head, use
a rubber band to hold the trigger closed, open the bleed valve, and pump
away. Sounds like a neat trick. Check out p. 84 of the September issue of
Motorcyclist.

Happy bleeding.
