Fuel smell source
Written by stanwalton... on 2/12/2011 at 01:37 am

Thanks to all for the input.

Bike starts and runs very well.. On rapid opening of the throttle to wide open,
it will bog down, but if with quick rotation, on and off of the throttle, it
will gain RPM. This condition lessens as it warms up..

Other strange behavior: after riding awhile, stopping and turning the motor off,
it's difficult to re-start.. Adding some choke immediately allows starting..

Miles per gallon seems to be in the 45-55 mpg...

Biggest problem right now is the exceptionally cool weather.. I live in SC and
this is the coldest winter in some time..

Thanks,
STan

isn't right. In the files section there is a guide to rebuilding/servicing
carbs. Try doing a tear-down and look for pin-holes or cracks/tears in the
various diaphragms and O-rings. At least that's my 0.02 USD.

navigate to the picture of the part you are asking about.

can not find the name or function of the part which appears to be part of the
vacuum system. It is approximately 3/8 inch in diameter and black plastic tube..
It has oil/fuel residue on the surface.
