Fuel smell sourceWritten by alfr4d on 2/16/2011 at 12:42 pmThere must be more unburned fuel after parking when the air filter is not
letting enough air through. A reason for the engine to run too rich. I will put
in the old one, that dried for over a year and looks so much better now. Alfred

normal operations. When you shut down there must be some unburnt gas that
either gases off thru the airbox or pumps thru the muffler on the last few revs
when no spark is available.

replaced the carb boots and rebuilt the carbs (no diaphragms)when I replaced the
cam seals. No leaks that I can find anywhere, carbs have been sync'ed. Runs
good, gas mileage always over 50 mpg. Been running Techron thought it too.
Finally just gave up trying to find the source and I just leave the garage open
for awhile when I get home from work. Anything recommendations?
