Trunk strut replacement from Autozone
Written by goldwingman40 on 3/10/2011 at 02:51 pm

Have you tried McMaster-Carr?

There is a past post giving info on the different load struts that work on the
PC including the part numbers and ends needed.
I had to replace mine several years back and went with a 70 pound force instead
of stock force of 50 pounds and a slight bit shorter
so the trunk would not rub a custom seat that I got 2 years later. You don't
notice the slight difference in opening and the strut is easier to get on
becaupe the trunk open far enough to just slide the pins in where as the stock
strut is longer and tries to open further but the trunk travel stops it. You
have to try to compress the shock to get the pins in while holding the trunk all
the way open. Much harder.

push down slightly as I pull the latch to reduce the load on the parts.
