I have a VIP trunk and looking for a mounting rackWritten by docpolycarp on 5/21/2011 at 03:27 amI'm just being impatient myself. Jim Streeter is working on producing a luggage
rack, see his post
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ipcrc/message/103318 and
his photos at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ipcrc/photos/album/290709758/pic/listWhen they are ready I'm going to pick one up from him.
I spent $16 on the corner braces just to see if the idea would work. I have them
bent into the proper shape but have not yet cut or mounted them. I think they'll
work just as well as the Reid rack, but I had not realized that they could cause
failure of the OEM backrest.
I think I'll go ahead and mount them up, being careful not to put too much
weight in the Givi 52. When Jim Streeter's racks are ready, I'll replace my
homemade version with his.
