Shark Radio?
Written by dave_hiett on 5/24/2011 at 02:14 pm

As the 'guinea pig', I've been very happy with mine, but like Ting, I don't use
it for the radio often. I mostly use tunes in a memory stick in the USB port.
The remote on mine works fine for me, once I figured it out. The buttons are
small, though, and to work it, fingerless gloves work best though some safety
purists look at fingerless gloves like going helmetless. Oh well. Don't mean to
start that thread...

designed into the meter panel. Sanding the cut smoothed out the work. I then
went to an auto salvage yard, and found metal grate speaker covers on a BMW
sedan, cut them to size, fashioned them to the new openings in the meter panel,
then sprayed the speaker covers well with black rust-o-leum, and the meter panel
with a good plastic black paint, then epoxied the speaker covers to the inside
of the meter panel. Looks great.

behind. Three holes drilled, 3/4" spacers to allow cooling, three bolts and
three wing nuts....easy install, only three holes drilled in the PC, and in an
out of the way place. I wired the power to the accessory plug, the ground to
the seat bolt connection, speakers and remote along the frame, under the tank
cover. For the remote, I drilled a small hole in the handlebar cover where the
two halves meet and ran the wire inside the handlebar cover, throttle side. To
attach the small remote control, I purchased some small 'double-lock' velcro
strips, cut to size, taped them to the remote and the handlebar cover. Looks
great.

without a lot of distortion. Sure, it's not as clear as ear plugs would be, but
it is fine....equivalent to the stereo in my MR2 with the T-Tops off and windows
down.

found the 'button combinations' to make it all work, but except for some simple
operations (mute is simple, volume down is simple, volume up is not), requires
two fingers and/or two hands..not easy while riding. The antenna is also not
like an auto stereo, with just a small wire....???

not turn it on, but for longer runs....it sure is nice having music/radio along.
