top hard cases?
Written by mikeyb_houtex on 6/3/2011 at 02:57 am

You can find a VIP for about 100-150 depending. It's a big one, with lights and
a spoiler with a brake light in it.

You can also find GIVIs and others for much more. You can find other models,
smaller, for less too. It all depends. Most go for the GIVIs or the VIPs for
looks reasons.

The biggest issue with this for a PC is how to mount it. Those that have the
GIVI SR10 mounting kit won't easily let them go. These aren't made anymore.
Last eBay listing I ever saw went to a member around here, and I wanna say it
was $300ish.

Other mounts are Reid Racks, Dan Burrell's setup, or roll your own. The last
option is what I'm gonna do for my VIP. There's been a couple done with a rack
attached to a Hondaline backrest too, but that requires the backrest, of course,
and those aren't cheap either, if they're found these days.

An example of the VIP type case:

I've seen others of these for less, and others for more. But you can do a
google search for "motorcycle top case" and all kinds will show up, and should
get you a decent idea. All of them are mountable, depending on how you produce
the mount.

Also in the links to the left...

You can find photos, links, and database entries that show various cases and
mounts.

Hope that helps!
