HELP!! No clutch

Well I have put about 600 miles on my just purchased '90 PC so now, with only
10,100 total miles my cluth is gone. Was taking it out for a spin and when I
squeezed the clutch control and dropped it from neutral to 1st it bucked and
died. Tries again, same result. It doesn't have the same resistance when I
squeeze it, actually feels like none at all, so do I assume it is the clutch
cable? I looked thru the archived files and found clutch R&R but no mention of
cable. I have the mechanical ability of the average housewife (no offense
ladies!) so I need help. PLEASE ADVISE!!!
