Georgia. I did not have to remove my grip. As everyone else stated, I cut the
little tab off and drilled a tiny hole in the side to run a screw into the
rubber of the handlebars.
Mine works great with a single thumb flip to lock it and release it.
Took all of 10 min to install. It included a little key to adjust the
screw which will also work with a flathead screwdriver.
Here are a couple of pics of the VistaCruise installed. The second pic gives a
better view of the screw and thumb placement.
