Still need windshield help
Written by motorcyclema... on 6/12/2011 at 07:25 am

Folx:

The only reply to my last question about my windshield ended with the possible
trader backing off, so I'm back where I started.

Since then, however, I took a 250 mile round trip (both day and night) and while
the engine performed flawlessly, the windshield is so bad I'm convinced it's
dangerous. (I can't see ANYTHING through the shield at night at all, and the day
is getting near that.)

So, I still need to know if anyone (Scott?) has a video showing how to remove
the windshield.

I need that because I'm going to simply remove the windshield and ride without
one until I can either save up enough for a new replacement (several years) or
find someone with a really good price for a used one. (Anyone?)

Cutting it down won't help because A. I still won't be able to see through
what's left; and B. I have not the skills, knowledge or tools to do the work.
(Unless I can use a circular saw with a plywood blade. No? I didn't think so.)

If there is no video, I may have to use that saw just to cut the windshield down
as low as possible, but since at least one person thinks the shield is
repairable, I'd hate to have do that. If I can take it off in one piece, I'm
willing to ship it for the shipping cost.

Thanks again. You folks got the bike up and running, so now I'd like to be able
to enjoy the fact it IS running.
