Still need windshield help
Written by aayjayhod3 on 6/13/2011 at 10:48 am

Well, I hate to tell you this but you're going to have to learn to wrench if you
really want to replace that windshield.

You will really only need two tools, a phillips screwdriver and a metric allen
wrench.

You will have to remove both rear view mirrors (allen wrench) to expose the tabs
that hold on the narrow panel that runs around the base of the windshield. Then
you will have to remove the retaining screws (allen wrench) and finally the vent
(phillips screwdriver) and oila! The windshield is off.

I just bought a Clearview windshield last week. I currently have a Rifle that I
bought second hand. Once I get my Clearview I'll let you have the Rifle for $25
plus shipping. It's not perfect but it's very clear. It should serve you well
enough until you find a more suitable replacement. I had to replace my OEM
windshield because it too became too obscure to see through and was dangerous.

while the engine performed flawlessly, the windshield is so bad I'm convinced
it's dangerous. (I can't see ANYTHING through the shield at night at all, and
the day is getting near that.)

find someone with a really good price for a used one. (Anyone?)

(Unless I can use a circular saw with a plywood blade. No? I didn't think so.)

down as low as possible, but since at least one person thinks the shield is
repairable, I'd hate to have do that. If I can take it off in one piece, I'm
willing to ship it for the shipping cost.
