Welding Plastic Panels

I had a fellow PCer here ask me to post this. I just created an album named
Welding Plastic Panels. I have welded several bikes plastic panels back
together "after the fall". If you can find the plastic type (code) inside the
panel and buy the correct welding rod the Harbor Freight welders work very well.
Practice makes perfect. If anyone wants to try this I'll be happy to coach you
through the welding process. The BMW1200RS I just put back together was a
PBT/PC alloy plastic. It welded back together from the inside so well that you
could hardly see the cracks and the paint on the outside was not discolored at
all.
