Photos - Cheap Givi mount/ luggage rack
Written by spacetiger_j... on 7/7/2011 at 05:11 pm

I have a givi rack, so I will not do this. But someone else building a custom
set up might. I was just suggesting adding some structure to the back side
under the plastic. It doesn't mess up the plastic, there would just be 2
mounting holes that go through the plastic so there is a mechanical connection
from the frame to rack. Tasteful mods like this do not detrack from the bike
IMHO.

job. Why not just build the rack correctly so it carries the weight on the
passenger grip handle bolts that have the proper nuts welded into the main
frame?

pick so you can see it would be easy to add some structural mounts to this frame
to the underside of the rear plastic tail. This would allow you to mate to the
tail safely.

tail with vibration or bouncing up and down of the loaded bag, since it is not a
structural piece, merely a plastic shell. Could you slide a layer of thick
neoprene or some other shock absorption material to help prevent this?
