Its been 2 1/2 months for mine, and almost a thousand miles of riding, but mine
rests on the duckbill of the rear trunk, so its not really supporting the weight
of the Givi.
Regardless, I'm going to order the Ukrainian rack from the recent thread at
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ipcrc/message/108018 and retire my home made
version, out of an abundance of caution. Their website is
