Need help for seat upholstering
Written by sr139fox on 1/19/2012 at 04:22 am

I live in eastern NC. The memory foam is 1/2 thick. I think he replaced the
old foam too. I ride year round, rain, sun, freezing cold. Yes, it does get
below freezing here. One morning I had to scrape ice from the seat. The seat
did not feel hard or any firmer. I do know it took a while for my rear to warm
up.

Memory foam is heat sensitive. This means that when you start taking the heat
out, it gets very stiff - meaning in cold weather it may feel like you are
sitting on a brick, till the seat warms up. I have never tried it on the seat, I
have had memory foam in cold weather and it is harder than a rock. I don't know
where you hail from, so if you live in the south, it is unlikely you would have
an issue. But if you ride in the cold, I think the seat would be pretty stiff.
