with the trunk. Riding the bike with the manual tire pressure in the rear
allowed the liner to be rubbed through. Most of '89 users raised the tire
pressure to 40-42 lbs The '90 and up had a narrower trunk liner, which will fit
all years.

A previous owner of my bike used what appears to be fiberglass and epoxy to
cover up a similar sized rub hole in the trunk. If you don't want to mess with
trying to patch it, a trunk liner will probably come along on ebay soon if one
isn't posted already.
