Relocating that darn rectifier

I'd be worried about water on the R/R with it mounted this low on the bike. I've
ridden through some pretty deep puddles and there's no way it stayed dry in
there.

Moving it to that location will probably allow you to use the original coil
wiring. Just don't steal too much air flow from the stator.
