Disable/by-pass turn signal self-canceller?

Is there a simple easy was to disable or by-pass the turn sign self-canceller?
I don't want to damage it just in case I or someone ever wants to hook it back
up. From previous MC's I've owned I have the habit of automatically turning off
the switch after completing a turn and would rather have it this way.

I know this feature is a favorite for many PC'ers but to me it is a dangerous
item. There have been many occasions where I have turned on my signal only to
have it shut itself off (sometime without my realizing it) before reaching my
turning point. This happens especially when traveling on higher speed roads
with short left turn lanes that require using the signals long before making the
turn.

Any help is appreciated.
