remove back tire?
Written by wynndungey on 3/4/2012 at 04:50 am

What nobody bothered to mention is that the torque specs on the installation of
that nut is very high. It's going to take a pretty high force to loosen. Check
the owners manual. It's the only one I've ever seen with torque specs on that
type of bolt. If you have the stock tool kit, you need both large wrenches and
the extender to create a tool long enough to have enough leverage to loosen or
tighten that nut. Removal of the light bar is also covered in the user manual
and does make it easier to get the tire out. Disconnect the right side
electrical connectors and then remember to re-attach them when putting it back
together.

If you don't have a copy of the owners manual and shop manual, get them online
for reference. There are links throughout this forum.

bolts removed, you can remove the rear tail light assembly, which will allow you
to just roll the tire out the rear (assuming bike on center stand). Just a
thought.

things worse.
