remove back tire?
Written by jeffgrigoletti on 3/4/2012 at 01:37 pm

I think there is a photo somewhere on the ipcrc database of a member using a 27
mm wrench; he is lying down parallel to the bike and uses his foot on the wrench
to break the nut loose. I tried it (before I got my impact wrench - which is
the way to go) and it worked great.

Check the owners manual. It's the only one I've ever seen with torque specs on
that type of bolt. If you have the stock tool kit, you need both large wrenches
and the extender to create a tool long enough to have enough leverage to loosen
or tighten that nut. Removal of the light bar is also covered in the user
manual and does make it easier to get the tire out. Disconnect the right side
electrical connectors and then remember to re-attach them when putting it back
together.

two bolts removed, you can remove the rear tail light assembly, which will allow
you to just roll the tire out the rear (assuming bike on center stand). Just a
thought.

things worse.
