Nitro Fill?
Written by gamick08 on 3/13/2012 at 02:42 pm

Great for racing applications where tire cross section is critical to

I have and use nitrogen in my shifter kart tires, but I've not filled the PC tires with it. Nitrogen greatest benefit is that it is dry and so doesn't expand like air. A kart tire going from 70 degrees to 240 degrees may gain 10 or more p

All gasses expand at the same rate. So if you fill with dry air, it will only expand at the same rate as straight nitrogen. --- In

On top of that, there already is 14.7 PSIA of air in the tire and you want to bring it up to 35 PSI or so. So, there is about one third of the volume is air and you are adding the additional two thirds. So in the end you are only adding about

Thanks for all the replies. You all have successfully talked me out of the nitrogen fill. I posted the same question over on the goldwing site and got similar replies - basically, no harm if were free, but not worth it if you have to pay, cer
