Is that the coolant level or am I seeing things?

Since I have only had my PC for a short time, I am looking it over and I am
trying to find out what needs to be done to it.
Today I tried my best to determine the coolant level. I got the bike up to
operating temperature and looked for the level at the tank lines. For the life
of me I looked so hard that my eyes were beginning to cross.
Is there a trick to this that I don't know about? Is it really that hard?
