Pulling the parking light fuse.
Written by wynndungey on 3/21/2012 at 01:19 pm

I was warned about the parking light position on my 89 when I got it. Never had
a problem. Looks like they didn't carry that feature over to the 90 that I just
bought. By the way, I used the backside of the main hot line in the fuse holder
as a power source for my heated handgrips. That way they only work while the
key is in the on position. (Fused separately.)

to mention that my key could be extracted in the wrong position without the
light being on. I tried it out so I know that checking at the rearif the light
is burning does not help either. a Little time or finger tapping and on they
went.

not forget to wrap a thin wire round the fusebox in order not to loose the cap.
When taking the fusebox off to eight a clock you can stick it under the clip at
the back so it will stay into place. The instructions of placement are at a
sticker on the inside of the dust-cap.

Watt per bulb. Here again is the slide-show of pictures. Note that the middle
light is more modern and "warm white" the tail/brake is too cool to be true red
really but do not tell the camera.

black on the inside. I have seen many PC's with almost no light there at all.
Not to mention that the clear window to the license plate is not kept clean. My
new long LED fixed all problems and having three LED's will make the Parking
function on the early model functional. The fuse is not an issue here, that left
air duct / maintenance lid is the first thing you open when in trouble. Probably
feeling if the regulator is cold and the fuses.

in the wrong position (P) and running down the battery because of the
taillights. It has happened once at work and twice at home and I even went so
far as to paint a stripe on the ignition switch so I would be less likely to do
it again.

been suggested before in this forum. With the left side panel off it took less
than a minute to pry the cap off the little white fusebox and remove the 10A
(careful, it's one of several) fuse. Tested without it and everything else
works so I must not have screwed anything up. One less thing to worry about.
