put bike on center stand
Written by gibinmich on 3/22/2012 at 02:22 pm

I carry a small block of wood that is 4" by 3" and 3/4inch thick in my gas
compartment for the rare times that I don't use the center stand; hot
pavement/dirt. It has to be a hard wood, not pine, so it doesn't split. Make a
few for those forgetful moments and as gifts.

side sink into soft surfaces more than the left causing the bike to tip to the
right. My ride off centerstand has a larger foot on the right along with some of
the weight being carried on the tire reduct the occurances of the bike sinking
into soft surfaces.

weren't too happy to find two divots in their asphalt. (And the bike did end up
leaning to the right.) Shade helps a lot.

only use the center stand on solid ground. I only use mine on concrete, never
asphalt! If one leg sinks in to soft sun warmed asphalt over goes the bike.
Just something to beware of.
