Shark Radio Update
Written by dave_hiett on 7/2/2012 at 09:01 pm

I had given up on the Shark radio, and was about to pull it out, when I wondered
if the thumb drive I had used went bad. Changed it, and suddenly the Shark
started working again! But remote controls were not responding consistently. A
friend suggested contact cleaner in the remote button housing. So what the hey,
nothing to lose, I soaked it good. Ta Da, problem solved. I am back to liking my
Shark radio and glad I was too lazy to pull it out.

Now as to the speakers: I was using the original Kenwoods that were in the
fairing when I got it, but they had started going all fuzzy. I transferred the
Shark speakers out of the bullet housings to the fairing (didn't fit well, but
made do), they were all mushy too. So I broke down and got a couple of new
Kenwoods (4" 140W) that dropped in place perfectly and now after messing around
for a year and a half, I can say things are finally working well in the music
department on Happy Dog. Well, at least until my next ride, which will be in
about 10 minutes.
