Re: Galfer Pads Replaced
Written by Leland Sheppard on 9/4/2012 at 12:00 am

Hi Tim,

The pads only lasted 15,394 miles?

Holy smokes.

My '94 lasted 132,000 miles (I just checked my records), my '89 has
lasted 145,000 and counting, my '90 has lasted 123,000 and counting and
even my '96 with the sidecar has almost 32,000 and counting... My
GL1800 needed pads for the left front caliper only at about 60,000...

Besides stopping too much ( :-) ), I'm guessing you aren't using engine
braking?

Wow.

Have you been replacing them that often for all of the miles you have
ridden on your PCs?

Leland
