Oops, didn't take a closer look, that part didn't look so good. This one is better at $59.99 + shipping ($17.25). But it comes with driveshaft and ujoint. You could have offered $50 ans they would take it.

Hi Coasters,Just an FYI...At my last service, my mechanic discovered that my '89 had something that was binding the rear wheel. He was pretty sure it was the universal joint. There also was a problem in that a seal

Did it vibrate on/off throttle, or did it just lock without warning?

Leland,Why didn't you try a VT final drive swap? The parts would have been cheaper and the RPM's lower. Just curious.Jerry

Interesting. I had one go in my Goldwing. It did vibrate off throttle. I basically had one day of commuting that something wasn't right. Knew I had to check it out, but being the end of a long day, I forgot about till the nest morning when I drov

Leland, I totally agree with you on the lower rpms. Regarding things that oould be better I have to add easier access to the battery.Tom

Leland,Agree on the final drive Stuff, unless MPG would work -- I could go one gear lower;-)However - this may not be fair as I don't know what could have been done in '89. Would like the thing you suggest but perfection in

Understand on the top end gearing, but it is a nicer overall change for all gears. They made more VT1100's than PC800's, so prices are a bit better:

As a person who has had 4 cylinder bikes and the buzzyness that comes with them, the PC's relaxed manner with standard gearing is just fine with me. This is a fix for a problem that doesn't exist.

There are only four year models of the VT1100 rear end which are compatible with the PC800. You will need to research the file information to know which years. Lots was discussed a year to two ago. Nancy '94PC
