I would recommend that you first check the alignment of your headlamp. You might see a significant improvement. Extra hot bulbs have been known to crinkle the reflective surface of the headlight. That being said, I use a 60/100 watt bulb on mine with no deleterious effects after 20 years. I've also used a modulator for the past 10, that might have helped.
