Def. I'm running HID and I use the 10K bulb. It is a bluish white. Nice and white without turning the world green or yellow. Also, the reflective signs on the road and especially the reflective tape on trucks light up like strobes.

My ballast recently went belly-up. Symptoms were: Got light, ain't got light. Change bulb. Got light today, ain't got light tomorrow. Since a new ballast, life has been sweet with no problems.

Another advantage of the HID is that there is only one bulb. A magnet inside the housing of the bulb moves it back and forth to shield the beam for low and unshielded for full brightness.

And yes, it is so bright that the reflection of the signs on the side of the road tend to bother me at times.
