Def,

I went too yellow with my purchase. I would go another bulb color or two toward the blue. The reason I didn't go with the "cool blue" that all of the kids I shake my fist at when they get on my lawn use is because I HATE seeing those lights coming at me at night. The pea green-yellow color I ended up with works well enough but is a bit too far into the green/yellow for my tastes. I believe I ended up in the 4000-5000K range on the bulb but I could confirm if it would be useful to you.

In the future (this winter?) I plan to convert to a full HID housing potentially with angel eye halo. Dropping an HID conversion bulb into our stock housing works but there are some annoying areas of light that stray outside where it should be. Also the beam narrows. And you will need to adjust the headlight to aim down a bit more than the stock configuration does.

Even with the drawbacks, I am happy that I went to HID. The extra watts saved will pay off this winter when I pony up the money for more heated riding gear.

Cheers!

Douglas
