Great advice and thanks for the messages info on your extensive writeup. I will read it thoroughly before attempting this. The project will be a winter project so I have lots of time.

Don't know how else to contact you but I noticed in a previous post you had a couple of good engines for sale. How much are you selling them for? Are they quiet without any rattles or knocks? (in the event I need to swap the motor out).I've noticed engines running between 300 and 800 on ebay, some with shipping included and some without). When people talk about different year motors needing a different wire harness to work, is that it? mounting points are the same other than the harness swap? Could I put the wire harness from my 89 motor onto my new 90 or 97 motor, for instance?
