Re: Drop in Dunlop K555 mileage

There is likely more to the story. What I have found is when manufacturing is moved to a less industrial country, the quality control on the raw material is much worse. The refinement and processing the raw material is not as pure. Even though it may have the same spec, the end product can be much different. The company I work for has this problem with raw material from China. It meats the same spec, but does not perform the same. We have done a bunch of research to find a factory we can depend on for quality raw material. It took a couple of years. Most likely that is what is happening to the tires. I only got about 7K on my Dunlops as well.

Interestingly, I went with a tire that I had used previously from Bridgestone and have been very disappointed with it. The traction is really poor. I'm learning to drift the rear through corners. While that may be fun, I'd much rather get traction. Mistake made, but I'm stuck with it for 2 years, what else do you do?
