Most welcome.  I just wish I had checked the old tires first.  The final mileage on these may yet surprise me.

Drop in Dunlop K555 mileage

My last set went to about 7000 miles.  I think the ones on it now will probably do about the same.  I had heard they were capable of 10,000.

I wonder if the person you talked to really knew what he was talking about. If the compound is the same it certainly doesn't make any difference where it is made. My son tells me there has been a lot of discussion about this on ADV rider and the

There is likely more to the story. What I have found is when manufacturing is moved to a less industrial country, the quality control on the raw material is much worse. The refinement and processing the raw material is not as pure. Even though it may

I asked my son where he got the information about tire chemicals being banned. It turns out it was not ADV, but rather a friend who is a engineer that works for a company that makes water jet cutting equipment. Apparently he was working on a project

Europe has more environmental restrictions than Brazil, so that may be something you are running into. I know European brake pads have a much worse problem with brake dust than American ones due to environmental restricions. Could have been the same

I replaced my two year old 12,000 mile front Dunlop a couple of months ago. It was made in Japan and still had good rubber left on it. I think it was also the first time that a front tire wasn't scalloped... for me any way.

When my Metzler chunked, I did some research and found that a batch of Brazilian Metzlers had been recalled. I'm hoping all that is past. I did report the tire to Metzler. (It's been a few years.)
