Tim, a 96 engine into a 94 frame will work.  No problems, everything will match up.   Removal is about an hour to two, replacement is about 4 - 5 hours.   Make sure you keep track of and mark your parts.   Make sure the U Joint arrow is facing toward engine.  Get new Isolators for the intake manifold / carburetor.  Depending on miles, replace Cam Seals when engine is out of frame.
