The Great LED Experiment, Part 2
Written by CalvinFold on 9/29/2004 at 05:22 am

Well, as I figured, the night LED shots didn't work well, since the auto mode
makes every light look bright.

But the daytime shots of the STOCK lights came out perfect:

This gives you some idea how invisible the stock Uni-Go bulbs are, as well as
a glimpse of the lack of visible lighting on the PC800 (and I have upgraded
my bulbs to brighter ones!). In other words, even the brake lights during the
day only work because of contrast, and not that much contrast even then.

I never realized how bad it was until I followed other PCers around during the
day and other crummy lighting conditions. Scary.

(BTW: Headlight is just as bad, but frankly outside of sheer wattage or some
kind of HID retrofit, I don't know how to solve that problem.)

Hence my efforts to improve the situation. We'll see if I accomplished anything
with the LEDs during the day.

The Great LED Experiment, Part 2
Well, for those who are nay-sayers about LED replacements, I've got news for you....it can be done, not cheaply, and not with simple bulb replacements, but it can be done...and WOW what a difference. I am using the 1.85" LED Clusters
