The Great LED Conversion, Part 2 (parts in!)
Written by CalvinFold on 10/14/2004 at 07:28 pm

Well, I got all my arrays and digital flasher unit...still waiting for
my E.C. order, but that stuff is minor by comparison.

Did some test painting with chrome paint on the enclosure of my test
bar. I'll need to paint the center section of the taillight bar, but
not the turn signals.

I didn't realize the replacement digital flasher unit was LED-only, so
I am now committed to doing all four turn signals on the PC800 when I
get started. ;-)

So Saturday afternoon I will heat-up and split all the lenses from
their backs and paint what needs it. Will remove the fairings so I can
have good access for swapping the flasher unit, install the voltage
reducer for the fog lights, make the new harness for the mirrors (to
accommodate the LEDs), etc. In other words "take apart day."

Sunday will be "wiring, wiring, wiring." Took Monday off to finish-up
any loose ends and do testing.

Once I get the EC order I have some testing to do ahead of Saturday on
the LED reflectors I ordered, as well as the little doodads they sell
to do running lights and signals (or brake lights) from the two-wire
reflectors.

So Sunday or Monday I should have some results...
