This reminds me of my 1979 trip, when I moved from the east
coast to LA. I had my trusty KH400 loaded to the gills.
Everything was attached the Sissybar, and rack because there
were no saddle bags. I packed my sleeping bag and pillow right
behind me so I could lean back on the superslab.
