New PC Luggage Rack from David Landsberger
Written by lcshepp on 12/16/2004 at 10:12 am

Hi Coasters,

I've tested the new luggage rack from David Landsberger and it's a good one.

The prototype is currently on its way to Maryland for Israel to test it
as well.

I just uploaded a number of pictures to the photos section under "new rack".

I've included a couple with the rack buried under my camping gear which
is the way I travel when motorcycle camping. You can barely see the
rack because of the way I bury it.

I weighed the gear that is actually resting on the rack and it came to
13 pounds but is about 3 feet wide (my tent and mattress pad). I have
traveled about 1600 miles with this same load on the Reid Rack without
problems so I'm sure David's rack will do just as well. I went out and
rode with all of the gear loaded on David's rack for about 2 hours, hard
cornering, highway speeds, etc Not a problem.

I also have some pictures showing the added bracket David and his folks
designed for the rack in an attempt to take pressure off of the back
rest brackets. The brace stiffens the rack significantly and will add a
lot of strength to it, I'm sure. I didn't do any stress testing with
the extra bracket in place except with my hands but I could feel a
significant difference.

David is going to sell the rack for $79 including the extra brackets,
plus shipping and taxes.

Five of you folks have indicated a potential interest in this rack. We
need to get a minimum of 10 orders before David can afford to proceed
with manufacturing of the rack.

Please let David or myself know if you are definitely interested.

Thanks.

Holler if you have questions.
