Electrical issue
Written by cameron19444 on 10/27/2008 at 08:36 pm

They were a bit corroded when I had the problem the first time and I
added some grease to them and reconnected. Problem seemed to go away
then, but now it's back.

I checked the connections again and they seem fine - and still have
the thin layer of grease, so I don't think it's that. I even tried
unplugging and plugging back in and turning the switch to on and off,
but with no result.

Read that some people have found the problem to be the starter (or
perhaps just the solenoid. Tried tapping it with a long rod and
hammer, but also to no avail. Every once in a while I will turn the
switch to on and the power returns. Tried moving various wires to
see if I could get the lights to flicker (indicating a bad
ground/connection) but it doesn't happen. Then, hit the starter and
get just the starter relay click and it's dead again.

Also tried pulling the starter relay switch out completely and
testing it per the book, and it says it's working properly.

I'm going crazy trying to figure this thing out.
