Electrical issue

I had similar problems on several cars I owned over the years. I use
to jump the starter relay to start the car. Usually with a screw
driver. I don't know if an old timing light with a pushbutton starter
or maybe make a remote push button starter switch. It might be worth
your time. I work aviation and many times an intermittent problem
could be traced to a bad relay. The relay contacts get dirty and
develop carbon on them from all that clicking.
