Clutch Replacement

The clutch on 'oldWing started slipping not too long after I checked
the clutch plates and discs while replacing the stator. (The engine
had to come out of the frame for that little job.) I discovered that
I could just do the clutch replacement with the engine in the frame.
(That did require a larger "swear jar".)

When I went to the friendly not-quite-local Honda dealer to pick up
the new discs I had a chat with one of the service folks. They said
that they had never seen a Honda clutch disc below the wear limit,
they always failed by glazing. When I compared the texture of my
Bakelite discs to their cork-n-rubber discs it was clearly time for
replacements.
