Clutch Replacement
Written by rudyg1937 on 12/29/2008 at 04:15 am

I agree wtih your dealer. I have seen worn plates but the normal
failure mode is glazing but still full thickness. These plates are
not glazed, except slightly on the outer 2, and the center ones are
as bron and fresh as the new plates.

Now, as an update the new clutch springs are 0.064" smaller inner
diameter and fit too tightly over the screw posts. I'll make phone
calls tomorrow and post the outcome. Makes me mad as I could have
had it assembled and done tonight. Now the Del Sol sits waiting a
transmission seal, the 94 PC waits for painted body work that was
supposed to be done weeks ago and the 98 PC is waiting for clutch
springs.
