Fuel Filter replacement
Written by rgv_zazen on 4/2/2001 at 05:41 pm
To those that may be interested, while replacing my battery I decided
that while I had the battery disconnected, it would be a good time to
replace the fuel filter. For those that have done it before, you know
why one procrastinates in changing it. Anyway, I was full of gumption
and so I decided it was as good a time as any.
I could not believe the difference it made in smoothness and
performance on the bike. It was as if I had gained 10 horses. The
original filter did not seem too bad, (doing the old blow test
anyway) but it definitely made a big difference. I had 13,906 miles
on the bike and believe it is probably the original, so if anyone is
experiencing sluggish performance you may want to try changing the
filter and doing a quick carb sync.
Best wishes,
