VTX1100 rear drive replacement
Written by c.amiels on 9/9/2009 at 11:42 pm

Thanks for all the info .I am looking for a VT1100 rear drive at a
decent price. I did happen to just pick up a 150/80-15 brand new
metzeler me800 off e-bay for 26.14 total. Just was delieverd fed-ex
today.......what a steal. it's going to be just a little bit taller than
stock 140/80-15.But I couldn't pass the deal and I do know that i'm
going to lose clearance when the bike is on it center stand. Well out
to the garage to do the swap out. Thanks again I really do like reading
all the tips and info on this board.

Just go to our site and search for that issue in the messages. There are several. Regarding a wider tire, get under the rear end and look at the clearance between the inside of the tire and the trunk. Dick MacInnes

Dick and Jeff both had good comments. I've got about 5K on mine, and I'm keeping it. It is SO NICE to hit 60 (in 4th) then pop into 5th for the wide open road! I posted some shots of the VT1100 speedo/tach readings in the photo section you ca
