Car Tire: End of Season Report
Written by shotcoy on 11/16/2009 at 05:15 am

I mounted the BFG Radial TA P155/80R15(car tire) on the back of PC800 on May
24th, 2009 and have put 6,258 miles on it since then. Super traction, super
stability, super cornering, super wearing, and best of all a super smooth ride.
An OEM Dunlop would be close to being worn out with this many miles on it under
my riding style(I got about 7,500 miles out of my last Dunlop). I "guesstimate"
this BFG is going to give me 20,000 to 25,000 miles before wearing out.
I mounted(backwards) the Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 120/80H-17 rear tire on the
front of my PC800 on June 22nd, 2009 and have put 4,088 miles on it since then.
It is also performing and wearing quite well. It seems to lose about 5 psi(or
so) of air per month as most bike tires seem to do. The BFG doesn't seem to lose
any.
I am not a road racer, however I do lean it over and scrape my pegs from time
to time. This BFG has never run up on the sidewall under any conditions I have
encountered. I believe I could be surprisingly competitive in a cornering rally
with this BFG(I am not going there as I consider such action too dangerous). In
a braking rally a motorcycle tire would be unable to compete against this BFG.
This thing will "whoa ya!!". Wet pavement, wet grass, mud, etc. traction is also
highly superior to the mc tires.
A car tire on the rear of a PC800 may not be for everyone, but it certainly
works exceptionally well for me!!
As always, enjoy fun & safe riding! Dave "YT" Hoover(aka-Shotcoy) Ashland, OH
