I think this oopsie ranks right behind scratching/knocking off the mirrors!
Between garage doors/frames, other vehicle's mirrors (especially monster
trailering ones), ignorant pedestrians in parking lots, and my own fat ass and
lack of paying attention, I've become adept at putting the mirror back on in
under 2 minutes. A small price to pay instead of having to buy new ones
regularly! That whole friction mount, safety wire, signal combined unit is
really a sweet piece of engineering. Do you know just how much damage happens to
car mirrors that aren't hinged (there are many like that)? It often damages
other trim pieces and results in those duct-taped on mirrors I see on cars
daily!
