Tupperware Tabectomy
Written by bdpickett on 2/9/2010 at 08:37 pm

On Leland's PC Annual Tour (P.A.T.) last September, I added to the first day's
excitement by scattering bits of Blue Pacific and myself across the countryside.
I have since recovered, and I am attempting to do the same for BP. I have
collected almost everything I need to begin restoration, however one piece has
been elusive: the left front upper cowl set, or fairing. I've been trolling eBay
for months, and an undamaged left fairing has not yet surfaced, although I
continue to look daily.

If I cannot find an intact fairing (anybody have one that they would part
with?), then one alternative would be to repair Blue's damaged one. Her's isn't
in that bad of condition, except that the enter lower rear mounting tab was
sheared away and is now nothing but shards of shattered Tupperware strewn about
the northern California Lost Coast. Rather than try to completely rebuild this
tab completely from scratch (which I could do, but it would be tedious), I'd
like to try to locate a replacement tab. If anybody has a broken left front
upper cowl set just cluttering up their garage or attic that they don't need,
and if its lower rear tab is intact, perhaps we could make a deal and that piece
could be used as an organ donor for a tab transplant for Blue Pacific.

So here's my request; if anybody has an intact cowl set, or a broken one with a
salvageable lower rear tab, please contact me offline.

Thanks!

Be seeing you,
