Seat upgrades?
Written by gibinmich on 4/19/2010 at 01:55 am

I have heard stories that the PC can cook in the corners. I did a seat
comparison today. My "old" 96 has the stock seat and my "new" 96 has a Corbins.
I have been riding the new bike lately while trying to sell the old bike. After
riding with the what seems like a rock hard Corbin seat, I took the old bike for
a spin and the stock seat felt kind of nice. I put 20,000 miles on the old seat
in less than two years and didn't ever have a problem with it. I'm leaving for
Texas in a week or so on the new 96 and probably will put on about 4,000 miles
in three or four weeks. I'm bringing along the sheepskin and might wear my
bicycle shorts. If I can get to a computer during my travels I'll update ya'll
as to how my buns are holding up(:(: I think the Corbin seat will be OK. Being a
bicyclest, I have a high tolerance for pain.

more I ride it the more impressed I am with it. I have owned many, and bween
riding 25+ years, but this is about the best all arounder I've ever owned.

of Charlotte NC. I have a local riding buddy who has been riding about 2 yrs
and owns a 2006 Kawasaki ZZR600. Now with the right rider that bike could run
circles around me on this in the twisties...However. So we head up to
Grandfather Mtn today, about 120 miles, and the last 30 miles or so are just
fantastic fast sweepers. I am having a grand old time on the PC running through
the turns at a brisk 50+ mph, and just having fun on the bike. Not even really
trying to get away (it's just so neutral in the turns!). Anyway, every time I
look in the rear view my buddy is well behind me. I know its really because he
is still nervous of getting the bike over, and still feels like he is falling.
But it was funny nonetheless to just school him in the turns today. And to be
honest, had I really gotten hooliganish I could have really gotten the PC over.
As it was my boots would touch down now and again...so I am not sure how much
room I had left to lean.

is on fire. Now, maybe I get use to this seat, but for those of you who've
owned these for a while, if that *isn't* the case lemme know now. Are there
good aftermarket seats out there for these bikes?
